The Ephemeral Trilogy, book 2
Ikelos
The prince is missing. Her souls are hungry. And crossing the border may doom them both.

Two months after reclaiming the Interior, Alex Kingsley has become the army’s most valuable asset—and its greatest liability. Her power is extraordinary. Her conscience is inconvenient. And the Command is counting on her to forget the difference.
To make matters worse, Will still hasn’t returned from Rhea. With each passing week, hope feels harder to hold, and though her friends urge patience, waiting feels like a betrayal she can’t survive. But she refuses to abandon the prince—or the only future worth fighting for—so she defies her commanding officers and crosses the Rim with a moral code no one else will honor.
In the bowels of a dying kingdom, surrounded by uneasy allies, she learns that mercy, like love, leaves no one unscathed. And when the mission begins to unravel, Alex must choose: save humanity…or save its soul.

And I thought the first book was good. HOLY CRAP… The author really knows how to deliver an emotional punch in a pretty, clever package.

…stories only get better as their authors do, and this version of Ikelos sent my love for this series into the stratosphere.

Ikelos is a powerful continuation of the series that raises the emotional stakes while expanding both the world and the moral complexity of the story.
Within a timeframe of one week, I've read both the first and second book of the Ephemeral and... UGH IT'S DAMN ADDICTING. I've grown fond of the characters, especially Fudge, who made me shed some tears T~T. Also, the relationship between both Alex and Asa progressing OMFL. You really condemned me into an incurable addiction for this series now I CANNOT WAIT FOR BOOK 3 !!!!!!
I've finished this a few days ago and I'm still not ready to let go. I enjoyed it from start to finish. Everything surrounding the storyline was beautifully put together (places, history, the magic), the writing (oh my gosh the writing!!!), the characters, and not forgetting the insane plot twists, deaths etc. I would read bits and pieces in between different tasks. Or sometimes savor it during my alone time. There's so many little details or pieces of things you've thrown in this book that makes me love it even more. Now I'm mad I didn't read this second book slower. Amazing work Erica! You seriously deserve more recognition. I hope this gets published some day, would love to have it on my shelves.
I LOVE your stories. I finished both books (Breeder, Ikelos) in less than 2 days. There wasn't even one minute that I got bored or felt like giving up in this book. Every second captured my attention. I honestly don't know how your books don't have millions of readers and votes. I can't wait to continue reading the rest of Ikelos when you update. I already know that when you finish this series I will be DEVASTATED. I have been on Wattpad for around 6 years now and I can clearly say that your books are honestly in my top favorite books on here. The way you write so fluidly and the character developments are AMAZING. I just can't get enough of it. Sorry for the rant but your books are just THAT AMAZING.
